In June 2024, EnCap returned to partner with Santa Maria Hostel at their Bonita House location. Volunteer activities included sorting through clothing donations, helping with landscaping, and painting an office space. Employees also had the opportunity to interact with the women and children in Santa Maria’s program during a tour and lunch.

Santa Maria Hostel’s mission is to empower women and their families to lead healthy, successful, productive and self-fulfilling lives. Santa Maria Hostel has been serving the women and children of Houston since the mid-1950s. Santa Maria provides life changing services to low-income, indigent women (age 18 and above) and their children from Harris and the surrounding 12 counties. Santa Maria provides recovery services that allow clients to complete substance use treatment, acquire parenting skills, develop job readiness skills, set and attain educational and employment goals, gain critical life skills, get referrals and information on resources and obtain permanent housing.
